Hello, students! I hope you enjoy this website and gain further knowledge and appreciation of Charles Dickens's novel. First, however, I know you are extremely curious about the creator of this adventure...
A Mr. Anstett Timeline:
1951 - born to Carl and Christine (much to the chagrin of the older sister, Diane, who wanted a sister)
1962 - has appendix out on last day of school after walking eight blocks home with nine pounds of books; while recovering he promotes wheelchair races down hospital hallways
1963 - throws errant snowball at a Chicago bus, but hits police car instead - chased for four blocks by policeman, caught and scared out of his wits
1965 - graduates with all-time record of being the last in every possible line throughout grade school due to height
1967 - breaks his high school coach's nose in basketball practice
1969 - graduates from Quigley Seminary - North in downtown Chicago, having survived four years there despite the school being located across the street from a strip tease establishment
1969 - decides to attend and try to graduate from Boston College
1973 - graduates from Boston College after majoring in English, playing four years of basketball, and having his own nose broken
1973 - starts teaching/coaching career - basketball coaching starts with a four-overtime victory in very first game (Coach wonders why he ever decided on this for a career.)
1988 - marries Susan Prachar - the best day of his life
1989 - earns M.A. in Literature from Northeastern Illinois University (honest, really!)
1990 - has first child, John, who comes into the world and says, "Hello, Father, you look like a wonderful man. I will always love you."
1993 - has second child, T.J., who comes into the world and says, "Who the blazes is in charge here??! You???"
2006 - still teaching and coaching, having worked at Quigley-North, Immaculate Conception H.S., Glenbrook North H.S., York H.S., and currently at Lincoln-Way (It is not true he cannot hold a job.)
2006 - takes AAM course at GSU and advances into the world of web page design, will journey from here to other interesting planets...
It indeed has been "the best of times, the worst of times."
