Lesson Two: -identify the actions that betrayed the goals of Reconstruction THE DISAPPOINTMENTS OF RECONSTRUCTION 1. Analyze the following primary sources to understand the disappointment and betrayal of Reconstruction. Again, refer to your Photo Analysis Guide and review the following illustrations and links. Continue to take notes on your worksheet.
2. Read a summary of the Supreme Court decision, Plessy v. Ferguson, that legalized segregation. 3. Read examples of Jim Crow laws. 4. Now it is time for you to arrive at your own conclusions. Consider the following questions: Evaluate Reconstruction. Did Reconstruction provide hope, accomplishments, and possibilities for a more perfect union in the future? Was Reconstruction simply a disappointing failure? 5. Support your conclusion by selecting a primary source document from the Library of Congress. Select a source that demonstrates your conclusion about Reconstruction. Copy and paste to a powerpoint slide #1.
