The purpose of this project is to:
Learn where new internet resources and images can be found
Expand knowledge of slavery and the Underground Railroad
To better appreciate the courage of runaway slaves
To get a better sense of what life was like for a runaway slave
In this project you will:
Read internet sites about the Underground Railroad
View images of conductors on the Underground Railroad
View images of slaves trying to escape along the Underground Railroad
Create a narrative about your adventures as a runaway slave
Express your ideas of what hidden message might be in the lyrics of an old Negro Spiritual
Create a quilt pattern and tell what your message is
