1. Now that you have completed lesson 1 and read the "stories" about transportation and how inventors have changed the way we travel, finish the KWL page -- What you have learned. 2. Draw at least 5 different types of transportation. Color and cut out the pictures. As a group, sort the pictures according to the same characteristics -- where they travel On land In water In the air ---which modes of transportation have wheels and which do not have wheels. 3. With a partner choose and print out one of the pictures. Use describing words and tell what you think is happening in the picture.
4. Many times a day you move from one place to another. Remember the movement of people or products from one place to another is what is known as transportation. How do you get to school? Draw a picture of how you come to school. Using the "How We Go To School" graph, count the different ways that your friends go to school. Have your friends write their name in the correct spot. How many of your friends rode a bus? How many or your friends rode in a car? How many of your friends walked?
5. As a group, make a chart of different ways people can travel. Complete sentence and draw picture of your favorite way to travel.
