Primary Source Writing Activity |
Today we use many different forms of transportation to get where we want to go. Long ago there were different modes of transportation as well. Your task is to compare and contrast transportation from long ago to what we are used to today. Here's what you need to do:
- Go to the Transportation Primary Source page. Here you will find pictures of many different modes of transportation from the past. You will see that many of these pictures look quite different from what you are used to seeing today.
- Choose a picture that interests you. Click on the thumbnail to view a larger version of the picture. Print out this larger version.
- Click on the paper to print out a form you will use for your writing. Follow the directions to write a paragraph describing how the picture you chose is alike and different from what we are used to today. You will also draw a picture of how that mode of transportation looks today. Be sure to proofread your writing, then add it to your Blast From the Past folder.
