I take a lot of pride in creating a positive and fun learning enviornment for my students. One very special tradition to me is my yearly door decoration. My mother is a retired high school art teacher. Every year, in August, she volunteers her time and talents to decorating the entrance to my classroom. This is a highly anticipated event and for weeks before her arrival the question is posed, "So, what's your mom going to do this year?" My dear friend, and 2nd grade partner teacher, always teases that she needs to put up a disclaimer reading, "Her mom is an art teacher - it's not fair!" Trust me, it would not look anywhere near as good if I tried to create it myself! The following are pictures of the yearly door decorations for the past few years. I regret that I can't find the pictures of our very first door decoration which was a big apple tree. They just keep getting better each year. Thanks, Mom!!!
