This project is the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, better known as the World's Fair in Chicago. The site is based around the book by Erik Larsen, Devil in the White City. Students in an11th grade English class will be reading this book. A cross-curricular activity will take place between the English and American History classes. Throughout this project, students will use primary sources from the Library of Congress to help them recreate the World's Fair. Students will also take an field trip to the city of Chicago and its surrounding areas to visit the actual sites of the fair.
